Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende

This morning we left Guanajuato and drove to Dolores Hidalgo. The drive was long but the view was breathtaking as we drove down out of the mountains.
In Dolores Hidalgo we saw the cathedral and went to a museum of the Mexican Revolution which is in an old prison. According to history, Father Miguel Hidalgo rose early one morning and went to the cathedral where he yelled his famous cry for independence. From there he went to the prison and freed the Mexican workers who were there. And that was the beginning of the Mexican Revolution.

After Dolores Hidalgo we went to San Miguel de Allende where we saw yet another cathedral and hung out in a pretty cool little town. It was nice to relax over a nice dinner and watch people dancing in the town square. San Miguel de Allende was beautiful. It was a great weekend but I kind of miss UDLAP. It's crazy but Cholula is like home now!
